Music at Mount Pleasant 200th Anniversary Edition - Opening Event
Music at Mount Pleasant returns for its 17th season in 2026, marking a special year as Mount Pleasant Group (MPG) celebrates its 200th anniversary.
This opening concert reflects the relationship between MPG and the communities it serves, and the important role Mount Pleasant Cemetery continues to play as a shared cultural and green space in Toronto.
Since 2009, Music at Mount Pleasant has been a free, family‑friendly summer concert series, showcasing outstanding musical talent from across the Greater Toronto Area, including artists affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music. In 2026, we are proud to continue this longstanding tradition while recognizing two centuries of service, remembrance, and community connection.
Concert Details
Date: Sunday, June 28
Time: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm (with welcome and brief remarks between 10:30-11:00 am, followed by musician and artist performances until noon)

Featuring the Mount Pleasant Supergroup! To help us mark our 200th anniversary year, a group of longtime Music at Mount Pleasant performers and fan favourites will be joining forces to walk us through two centuries of classical music, including songs and instruments played in different eras. This includes Robert Ball, whose ancestor Richard Amos Ball was buried at Mount Pleasant Group's Prospect Cemetery in 1925.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to the opening concert and throughout the summer season.
